This vintage Robert Allison kilt brooch is typically Scottish. A Dirk or dagger in sterling silver adourned with a thistle finial in a lovely Cairngorm amber stone. Assayed in Glasgow in 1956.
Hope you like this one Elizabethan ????

Ment to write that I can't see the other marks. Darn Phone:)
Oooooh! That is gorgeous!
I like the design of this. The stone looks to be a cairngorm citrine. Very beautiful!
The tubehinge and c-clasp makes me think this is older than the info on Allison or made to look victorian. Could you take a close up of the other marks?
Try that one (photo 4)
Thank you strangemodegirl for the lovely comment and love. Thanks also to MALKEY, vetraio50 , AnythingObcure, Vynil33rpm and Elizabeth for the loves
Hi Elizabeth that's probably better (photo 4). I do see what you mean regarding the dates not tallying up. Neil
Cheers blunderbuss2, clockerman, fortapache andJenni for the loves.
Glasgow assay office 1956.
Thanks Ivan49 that clears that one up. Neil
Nice! You and Elisabethan spurred me to do another search for my box of brooches and kilt pins and still can't find it so starting to think I must have accidentally thrown it away. "Luckily", I can't remember e everything that was in it...
It will turn up I'm sure.
Cheers for the love kwqd.
Thank you aura for the love.
