At an auction last weekend I purchased these two dolls since no-one else bid. They looked old, and interesting, and I love researching things to see what I truly have. I didn't have any success on these though as I could only find one with info, and that solely described there physical appearance. I believe, from the post I did find, that the heads, hands, and bottom leg/shoes are bisque? Can anyone give me some info about how old or collectable these two may (or may not) be? I am sure someone might collect this type but I don't know enough about what they are to start to advertise them. Thanks in advance!
No marks on the back of their heads?
Unfortunately no. Nothing on any of the bisque areas or the cloth.
These are called porcelain not bisque . They are more modern dolls maybe from 1970s-90s . The appear to be a tourist doll or folk art dolls from a cottage industry . I believe clothes were faded on purpose to make them look more aged . Very nicely done dolls. Hard to say who made them or artist that sculpted the mold and painted them. I suspect they may have had hang tags identifying maker ,
