These are some of the items that my close friend Henry Dietrich made for me before his passing 15 years ago. He was a master blacksmith as well as his other talents. He passed at the age of 94 and the year before his passing, he built a log cabin on his property. He never stopped constructing buildings or blacksmithing, and many local blacksmith today owe their talent to their teacher, Henry.
Photo # 2 and # 3 are fireplace toasters while Photo #4 is a heart shaped Betty Lamp. All of his work was patterned after original early items, and he made his masterpieces exactly as the antique were made.
now-a-day, since his death, his items bring a high price when they turn up at auction (Henry always signed his items).
If your lucky, talented people such as Peter Derr and Henry Dietrich can be found once in your lifetime, Their legacy will continue for many, many years.
P.S. Henry's wife died five years after Henry's passing..... she was 97 years of age.
