This is definitely one for Eileen!
What I have learned from her… By looking at the clasp, the C clasp and the way it is flat hinged it’s definitely 1930s or earlier. But, the way the pin protrudes past the edge of the brooch speaks to the 20s or earlier, if I remember correctly?
The gemstone is not glued and it is in beautiful condition, albeit some slight scratches on the top. It looks to been pushed back a little because the back of the stone touches the pin and I don’t think it was meant to do that. There are no markings. But it’s truly a fine piece!
This is yet another acquisition from my “I’m going to say that I’m going to collect pieces to which I shall act as a steward and look after them for generations to come because it sounds a lot better then I can’t control myself or my spending when I get around old jewelry”.

Thank you, Eileen! I didn't know that's why the pin was so long. I do know that bezel set speaks to being older and more valuable because YOU taught me that on one of the first pieces I posted where the stone had been glued into the bezel. You're the best! What I wouldn't give to see YOUR collection one day!!! Btw...I'm Carmen. Thank you for always offering your help!
Beautiful brooch! The details in the metallwork is a little unusual and I think it is very nice. To me this looks european and could be maybe even from 1900-10. In museums I have seen c-clasps that are flat like this on even older brooches so it is from the overall style of the brooch that I say how I see it. But it will be hard to pinpoint the exact time. I think that if you pass 1920's it would place this lovely brooch too late.
