I don’t have the Sherman reference book on the names of their creations so I would appreciate any information you can provide. This large necklace doesn’t seem to be part of a full “parure” because of the large size of the central Flower/Snowflake jewel. It is marked on both the clasp and the pendant. It never had any clasp attachment so it was made as a pendant and has two hooks to attach to the necklace. The necklace pendant measures 2 1/2” and the necklace itself is 5/8” wide and 12” long on each part ( 24” overall). It has to be the most exiting Sherman item that we have ever come across so it has to have a name. The backing is solid Rhodium.
Wow Loumanal, that's a stunner. Their jewellery was exceptional in design and make.
Phil should be by soon we hope!
Truly fabulous Sherman beauty, the all rhinestone necklace "chain" is especially gorgeous & unique. Wonderful find, kudos
Thank you racer4four, Ms.CrystalShip, Newfld for the comments & love and thank you fortapache, kwqd and vetraio50 for the loves. In the bottom right photo, the copper spots is reflection only from a lamp. RER
The backing is Rhodium plating which is his usual, never chromium. This is not in the book, clear jewellery is rather low in interest right now as in the book there is not too much either, but since there is good design and rarity, this should bring you a pretty penny !~ The book is cheap in price but excellent, get one.
Thank you Phil! Will get a book for sure. Was this chain/ necklace part of a set or was it sold separately? I had never seen something so big in jewelry made by Sherman. Rhodium does make sense. Is there a name for the ordinary red stones used by Sherman? Not the dark red stones in the bracelets you recently uploaded.
Thank you Newfld and aura for the loves. Bob
Stunning ! wow
Thank you Manikin and thank you RichmondLori and MALKEY for the loves.
No, just red. The book does not name colours either, just what is known as a Colour wheel he put out, I believe only to stores or by his reps coming to the store. the wheel just lists the colours and have glued stones to illustrate the colours. Someone just posted one a while back on facebook group.
Not solid rhodium either for metal. See that I wrote plating !~
Thanks Phil! Appreciate it.
Thank you also Watchsearcher, awesomeoldstuff91 and Mcheconi for the loves. RER
