With a recent death, this item has yet to find a home with a relative. It's probably from Alaska. If it has any cultural significance, I'd happily return it to someone who'd appreciate it. Can anyone help me identify who made it and when? It appears to be woven wool of some sort, but the yarn is "hairy." I assume it's a blanket because it's rather large but lightweight.

It appears to be a contemporary woven piece from Central or South America, known for that "hairy" yarn made from llama or alpaca wool, not Alaskan.
