This Victorian rainbow spatter glass jug vase is extra special to me, because it was a super gift from my CW buddy Karen (racer4four).
She found recently it in an op shop & asked me if I was interested...you bet I was! :-)
It arrived yesterday, & I am just thrilled with it for so many reasons - the rainbow colours, the perfect condition, the fact that it matches a larger vase I already had...but of course the most important reason is that it came to me through thoughtfulness. A true gift of friendship, from one collector to another...
The vase is made from three layers of cased glass, clear over rainbow spatter, with an opaline white interior. It measures around 17 cm tall, 5 cm across the crimped, triangular top rim, & 5.3 cm across the base, which has a rough, snapped pontil mark.
There is an applied clear handle.
In the fourth photo, it meets a larger specimen by the same maker (Harrach, maybe?).
Fabulous !!!
Many thanks, Kevin!
