In 1957, Sputnik changed everything.
It was a big deal when Russians put a basketball-sized satellite into orbit on October 4th.
No surveillance equipment, no bombs, just a radio transmitter that beeped...and made everyone look up into the night sky and wonder what would come next.
What came next was the merchandizing.
Companies rushed to get their Sputnik-related items onto store shelves in time for Christmas sales.
Ed-U-Cards made the Satellite Space Race into a card game that depicted the perils and the triumphs of venturing out into space.
