This Egermann vase is 12" high and weighs about 6 pounds, a good sized vase. It is both labeled and etched with the Egermann name.

I have been looking for a nice example of Koransha pottery with the modern mark and found a very nice dual tokkuri sake set with tomobako from this seller which I will post in the future. Anyway, I was looking through this seller's store to see if they had any more good Japanese stuff and came across this for $24, in mint condition not even any wear to the bottom.. That is a pretty good deal, if I recall correctly, and Egermann is my favorite Bohemian glass maker so, when I regained consciousness, I discovered I had purchased it. Not really my fault....

It has been a while since I bought any Czech glass, but I still really like it and if I see something that I like am not adverse to adding it to the pile. The hole they are going to have to dig to bury me and all of my stuff in just keeps getting larger.

Czechoslovakia came into being in 1918. In 1993 the country divided itself into the Czech Republic and Slovakia completely amicably. More recently the Czech Republic renamed itself Czechnia. Thus the country of origin can be very helpful. That said Bohemian was used on glass labels long after 1918 as it was synonymous with quality.

Thanks for the chronology sklo42! I'm surprised that this is much newer than I would have guessed. This style seems very dated by the time it was actually made.

Czech very heavy vases, very popular, for a very long time! Half a century really.

Thanks for your comment sklo42! Czech glass from other makers I have from the 90s on was still massive but the designs were a lot different. Maybe Egermann was a bit behind, design-wise, or just sticking with some reliable sellers.

Thanks for loving my Egermann vase artfoot!

I do love these vases, remind me of lots of Japanese glass (or vise versa)

Thanks for your comment, Eileen! I like the colors, too! They are signature Czech glass colors.
