Latest acquisition is an original Continental Art Company plaster "Hawaiian" themed lamp. I have seen these with a speckled sea green paint on the leaves but mine is a speckled tan. The seller insisted that both the paint and the shade were original to the lamp which had been in his family for over 40 years. I also have it's counterpart in the same shape except the leaves curve in the opposite directions to this one. This indicates to me that they were sold as pairs. Unfortunately, my other lamp needs to be repainted and I have to search for a matching shade now as well. I should add that the double fiberglass shade is rectangular although it looks round in my photo. Maybe I'll post another top view photo later, or not.
Gorgeous piece, Nice find !~
Thanks. At last I know the original color and style of the fiberglass shade. It was always a choice of what would look right with this lamp. My other "non-painted" twin has a two-tiered green fiberglass shade on it which seemed right for it. I may post the two of them together.
Love it !
