Found this doll and wanted to know if she is worth me getting her restored. She has no markings. She has all appendages attached but they are loose. Her clothes will need cleaned. Should I toss her or keep her??
Thanks
She absolutley should be saved ! A German Bisque doll good quality . She is marked on back of neck and it might be under hair. But there is a marking on her there can you recheck . She looks like the quality of perhaps Kestner . Hair being cut is not anything to be concerned about . She is called a socket head doll on a composition ball jointed body in a beautiful what appears to be original dress and shoes . Gorgeous ! Now let me know when you look again what her marks are ok . Love her ! She just needs to be restrung and cleaned , Keep or sell if your not a doll collector and they will restore her :-)
Look right at rim of back of head where the opening at top of head is . Tell me if you see a Letter like just a L or M ect. It will also say Germany on head it was required :-)
Thank you for your advice on finding the marking. I uploaded a photo of what I found under the hair. I cannot make it out. It almost looks like DEP and two zeros but I am absolutely uncertain maybe you can zoom in and have an idea of what the marking say. Thank you again for your input
If you rub over number by with a pencil it will make more clear and not hurt doll by Dep that is mold number I see 99 which would make her a Simon Halbig doll . Does she have pierced ears ? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sweet-Simon-Halbig-German-99-DEP-Child-Doll-With-Rocker-Eyes/164354277216?hash=item2644473f60:g:nggAAOSw2RdfRp7b
She does have pierced ears! But the earrings are missing. Do you know where a good website is that I can list her for sale? where I can find her value? I would rather someone who collects would have opportunity to take care of her. Thank you.
