I will post this to value my stuff as well, but can anyone help me out with information on these 2 J. B. Hirsch lamps? How old they might be? Sorry if this isn’t the intention of this forum. Thank you in advance for any help!
Possibly from the Hirsch "Collection Francaise'' which came out in 1967 approx and some have that foundry mark words on it. The foundry owners' son was in NYC at the time at the Met Museum which was doing a show of some of the original ones. The foundry became famous for going to Paris after the wars and digging up the original moulds and producing a lot of lamps from their finds. These would date from the late 1940's to 1950's. They made a lot of lamps to the late 70's and into the 1980's when they finally closed. Author Harold Berman was also doing his 4 volume Bronzes set and wrote some nice things about the Hirsch foundry and the sons were referred by the Met museum to that author. Longer story cut short.
