Two rolling pins, from two different sources recently. The little one is about 16" long total and made of solid (unfinished, needs oiling?) wood, coming from cleanout house #1 in grungy enough condition that I didn't even bother to pick it up until one of the final trips there. It didn't scrub up too badly, but I doubt I'll actually ever use it to make food with anyway...I remember what it looked like... <eeek>

The big-boy model is another story, from an entirely different estate. Its 'rolling' part is a full 16" long and 3-1/2" across, made of nicely finished maple wood on a metal axle betwixt independently rolling handles, almost 28" long overall. One end clearly identifies it as made by "THORPE ROLLING PIN CO. CHESHIRE CONN." A quick look around Google strongly suggests it is a commercial foodservice grade machine and in fact their largest model, and that the THORPE pins are perhaps the fine$t available on the market. (claims of others, not mine)

Anyways about it, *this* one would also make a most efficient and effective "skull cracker" too, I'll bet...mebbe I'll leave it leaned up in the corner by my bed, instead of somewhere closer to the kitchen? ;-) :-) And would it even fit in any of my kitchen drawers...maybe not...?? <lol>

EDIT just for fun...I measured and h*ck NO this thing won't fit into any of my kitchen drawers, or cabinets or pantry shelves, unless it'd be sideways in there...? <LOL>
