I dug up this Victorian-era gas valve while metal detecting in my home town last weekend. At first I thought it was a piece from an old oil lamp but after speaking with a few people, it's been confirmed to have come from a gas valve. This find was made with my Garrett AT Pro metal detector on an old homesite from the late 18th/early 19th centuries.
