    Hello everyone!! First trunk purchase here. Only paid $40 for it. I was hoping someone can give me information about it. There aren’t any marking or labels on it. Also no key so if someone could tell me what kind of key it takes that would be awesome thank you!!

      It is an Iron banded, traveling trunk that is probably from around the 1860's or even slightly before that time period.There is a chance that the lock could potentially be a British maker .They were produced by hundreds of different trunk makers across America, Canada and Great Britain. Some would consider this to be a Jenny Lind style, or type of trunk.

      As for finding a key for the trunk lock that may be difficult. Maybe the link below could be a helpful resource ,I am not sure though, thanks for the post.
