These were found at the same 2016 auction in Adams County, Pennsylvania.
One is CA 1862, and the other CA 1895. I looked just today to see if these might be the same man.
It appears to me that they may be. The auction came from a family whose name started with an "H" and they
lived in the town proper of Gettysburg for many years. Can you see it here enough to give your opinion?
Neither of these is for sale, but I would like to hear your opinion.
I have an old address written on another cabinet card that I got at that auction.
I do not know for sure if any of the people in these two photos ever lived at this address, but
it says "J.C. Hamilton, 30 Breckenridge Street, Gettysburg, PA."
Any comments or guesses are appreciated.

Not enough details visible in your images.

Assume you have taken the hard image out of the case to check for any details inside of the case?

      Thank you, Scott.
Yes, the ambro's image did not come out well.
The older copy of it that I have had up here for years has much better detail.
I will see if I can not post a clearer copy up here. Yes, I looked for other clues on
the photos. The family name of the family was "Hamilton", and I suppose that
I can look for a 2nd corps soldier from Gettysburg on the roster. But he could
have had a different last name like if he married into the family.
Mostly I am just feeling stupid that I got these at the same auction in 2016, and
never thought to look at these two photos to see if perhaps they were the same person! They look very similar in the face, and the hair could be of the same person too. Wish I had more to go on! At the auction there was an ancient oil painting, from I suppose Revolutionary times, and believe it or not, it looked
like Alexander Hamilton. It went for much money!
