This seems to be a fancy tin for something that holds 12 tea bags but here it is. At 3" x 6" I am thinking I could fit more than 12 in it. It is only a bit over an inch deep I can't fit many rocks in it though.
According to my research it is from the 1920s to the 1950s. They were all just guessing I am guessing. Probably not quite as old as it looks as tea companies prefer an older look. Not even a mid century modern look.
As tea drinker I actually have a couple other tins I put my tea bags in . I have one for fresh ones and another for the used ones. The used ones will be used for mulch. And I am not sure what else I can say about the tin. Not quite a spectacular year end post but here it is.
Really nice Lipton Tea tin, I love keeping tea bags in tins myself. Great post to commemorate Lipton's, they started in 1871 which would make them 160 & they make the BEST tea. Happy new year fort
Very cool tea tin. Happy New Year fortapache!!
Thank you very much Newfld. Lipton is what I normally drink. I like Bigelow Constant Comment for my days off.
And Happy New Year Scott.
I was thinking 20s or 30s.
It says tea supplier to King George V on the front, which would put it 1910 to 1936. Also, King and queen of Italy. Italy didn't have a royal family after the war which also dates it to before 1945.
Thank you very much elanski. I think that puts it firmly in that time frame.
