This 1 3-4 x 3" silvertone brooch features an artists palette design with graphic clear rhinestone background, five marquise "paint pot" stones and blue tipped paintbrush. By Dorothy Bauer from the 1980s
Dorothy Eleanor Bauer began jewelry designing with her husband in 1981 in Berkeley CA calling her shop A Piece of the Rainbow later changing it to D Bauer Designs, as per CJCI-researching costume jewelry & nasvete websites.
How beautiful - detail to the tip of the brush, awesome piece. You certain keep me watching for your next post, and I have to say I welcome the wait - Lori
That's the prettiest artists palette I've ever seen!!!
Lots of work for the workers on this one of using prongs on the many white stones.
Bob Ross comes to mind :) ....nice brooch!
Nice piece, Jenni!
With warm thanks to you all for the love

Lori thank you for the sweet lovely compliments, both for this brooch and for anticipating my posts that is so flattering, I will try to live up to it & keep finding some out of the ordinary things like this artist palette. Some designers like Dorothy Bauer make it easy, she was very creative and had a wide range of interests so you always have originality with her
Thank you so much Scott for your super compliment and I have to agree - there were several vintage artists palettes out there but to me this Bauer one had the best design & most bling, if something just has a couple rhinestones it lacks pizzazz to me
Phil you are so right, Bauer was good about using prong settings but all those rhinestones must have driven the setters up the wall! Great comment & sharp eye my friend
You know Kurt, as I was reading your kind comment I was watching a PBS marathon of Bob Ross' Joy of Painting shows, he was just mesmerizing to watch and made painting look so easy, and his calm demeanor was very soothing - it was such a surprise to find out on wiki that he had been a sergeant in the air force in charge of ordering guys around, what a sea change of personality after he left the military he was so kind & patient, truly a renaissance man
Thank you MrsT for your wonderful compliment, you always give me such sincere encouragement & I totally appreciate it :)
Thank you Michael for the always kind love, I really appreciate it & it's very thoughtful of you. Glad you liked this rhinestone artist's palette
