Found this gold painted vase at local thrift store. The base and the attractive shape and size (8") and the $2 price tag said take me home.
The paint had an earlier copper color underneath ,on removal revealed a nice lemon glaze, finely crazed, with the body color clear glazed on the neck. I love the look.
I suspect circa 1900 but can anyone suggest a maker? It's fairly heavy and with the colored base I think it must be American.
