Here is a recent addition to the collection, a beautiful mint condition Mercedes. It happens to be the same year as the 500k which you may have seen in one of my earlier posts. This model has opening hood, doors, and steerable wheels. It also has an adjustable sun visor. This car comes with its original box and styrofoam, engine layout sheet, franklin mint vehicle pamphlet, letter, and care instruction sheet. The car also has its original tag. I did spend some time cleaning this car, and interestingly enough, franklin mint has some in depth instructions on how to clean the cars. They suggest using cotton swaps and a soft cloth to get rid of dust and smudges. They specifically mentioned to not use any form of cleaner or polish, contrary to what i have been doing. This car was dusty when i received it, and i was amazed with the effects the franklin mint cleaning instructions had on the finish. But in the end, it is debatable as to weather the polish i use actually causes damage. I don’t think that it does, but franklin mint obviously just wanted to be extra cautious. Anyway, thank for looking at emperor hirohito’s car.

Really like this vehicle! I have about thirty or so Danbury and Franklin Mint autos in storage; most I bought direct, but a few second hand off eBay. I really need to get these out, clean them up, and show them.

@Big-Zingo Its super fun to clean them up, the only issue is,you have to be very careful about how you go about doing it. There are so many things on the car that you could easily break off. My suggestion is to use a brand new high quality paint brush to dust the car, and if there are smudges, use a plush microfiber towel to buff them off. Only resort to waxing if the cars paint is really faded.
