I have read about and saw pictures, but I've never seen a jewel of Iron Berlin myself. Until I came into the possession of this simple piece. It is as I know now my first very simple small locket and chain made of iron also called Iron Berlin and blackened.
There are three conditions that a Berlin Iron jewelry must meet:
1. because it is made of iron it's magnetic
2. it is not soldered but any parts are connected by rings with each other.
3. it is blackened to rusting counter
4. it feels cold / cool
Meet these requirements this medallion is indeed Iron Berlin. Especially the chain is very fine and nicely executed and it also meets the above requirements. The locket is simple but closes well with a diameter of almost 3 cm.
Would this necklace with locket also can have any value? Who knows the answer??
BELLIN68, As I said in the intro this is a very simple piece and magnetic, so iron. Would it be iron Berlin in simple form you think?
