Blue1960
(1 item)
Hello Everyone,
I could use anyone's insight as to what this item is. I sent pictures to "Value My Stuff", to my disappointment the 2 appraisers could not find anything on this item and suggested that I take it to some Museums.
I have taken it Antique Stores and they as well have not seen anything like it and commented that it could be a poem but she said that is made of Bamboo.
Description:
Looks like a 12 stick chime with coding on each stick. I do Know if the symbols are from the top of the item. It looks handmade, Could this be an Ancient Measuring Device, a Prayer Device, a Poem???? I do Not know anything about this at all.
I can tell you that it measures 5' long and top is 2.5-3 inches wide. I have not handle much since I acquired this piece.
I do not think that these markings or lines can not be erased or seems the be engraved slightly.
I would be happy to send more in-depth photos per request.
interesting! it kind of reminds me of a quipu, but that is probably just superficial.
This reminds me of some Chinese ancestry record I saw in years past....but this is totally a guess. Some CW member will surely have the correct answer for you. :-)
