    Hi everyone!!
Another still bank from my collection. This one was made by A.C. Williams in the very early 1900's. It's made of cast iron and is still very well preserved. This one still retains most of his original gold leaf paint and there's even a tinge of the original red paint on his eyes and mouth that still remain. He measures 6" long and 6 1/2" tall.
The A. C. Williams Company started in business in Chagrin Falls, Ohio in 1844. It was founded by John Wesley Williams, the father of A. C. Williams. The Williams' family came to Chagrin Falls in 1840 with Reverend Benajah and his eight sons, including John W., coming from western New York state. They manufactured cast iron toy cars, trucks and still banks until 1938. Their history is a bit too long to post here, but there's a long history on the web, if you'd like to read more about them.

Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

Thank you Jenni!! He is a handsome fellow for sure. I have 6 or 7 reproductions that were modeled after this fellow. But, the reproductions are twice the size of this.

Thanks old friend!! He is very detailed. I have some reproductions of this fellow that are twice the size of this one. Those would definitely have the 22's bouncing off them:)

Thanks so very much!! Again, time slips away so quickly. I can't believe how this year is quickly getting away from us. Yes, this still bank is nearing 100 years old.
