old trunk

ATTENTION 'trunk collectors' -- I know there's a bunch of y'all here -- please somebody tell me if I've got 'a thing' here or not?!!

It is still quite sturdy, but also quite 'unrestored' -- the hardware is rusty, and most of its leather straps and handles are now gone. There are remains of old labels on it but they're not readable except for the few inside its lid that don't identify who owned it or who made it, rather apparently a couple places that person went. Its underside (not shown) features iron wheels as well as the corner hardware. If there is a maker's label or name anywhere on it, I haven't found it yet -- it also remains full of old pillows and pictures/frames/parts that I haven't examined closely.

Now that I look at the pics again, I wonder what on earth prompted me to wrestle it into/outta the back of my truck by myself this afternoon...my back ain't gonna like that stunt in a few more hours...

SUGGESTIONS/FURTHER INFO MOST WELCOMED, ifn's somebody can tell me any more about it?!! [and marking this as 'unsolved mystery', in hope that somebody does! :-) ]
