Hello people on CW its been a while since I posted on here.
I bought this pendant recently, these are my friend's photos as I'm back in sunny Spain.
The seller was selling has a antique French Art and craft silver gold turquoise pearl lavalier pendant from around 1890-1900.
Personally I don’t think it’s French, I could be wrong. I think it is more in keeping with Austro-Hungarian jewellery, their are marks on a link, I can only read ADP the D could be O, the other marking has you can see isn't readable. From the shape of the lozenge I’ve been trying to put a country to this shape, unsuccessfully.
It is extremely well made, measures approx 7 cm by 3.5cm. Unfortunately on each drop there is a missing pearl.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for looking
Stay safe.
Gorgeous !
I was with my family in the UK, we had a new addition to the family, my grandson Sebastian. I went back to the UK last March, I was suppose to go back to Spain in April. Unfortunately both countries went into Lockdown. I managed to get home to Spain at the beginning of December.
Many thanks Manikin.
Awww, thank you valentino. Don’t know when I’ll see him and sister who’s 2 1/2 in the future.
Such a beautiful majestic pendant, a lovely find
Thank you very much Newfld.
I think this is middle-eastern. I reminds me of the large pendants on Yemeni headdresses and necklaces.
This is beautiful and from India!
Thank you plain-air-painter and ho2cultcha, I have to agree with both of you it does have that Asian look about it. Will have to delve into Yemeni jewellery and Indian jewellery see If I come up with anything. Thank you both for your help.
Hi ho2cultcha, sorry for the late response to your comment. I still have no idea where this pendant originates from. It could be from India or the Middle-East.
Thanks for passing by, it’s much appreciated.
Many thanks
