    A client gave me this painting as payment recently. I had it framed and i really like it. it's going up on my wall tomorrow - which means a lot of shuffling things around. I'd love to know the artist's name and approx when it was painted, if anyone can tell. Thank you!

      Do folks think this is Japanese or Chinese? i was thinking Chinese, but i think i'm leaning towards Japanese now - particularly because of the subject.

      Definitely Chinese - done in the Southern Song Dynasty style, but when? and by whom? big mystery. the last name appears to be Chen, but can't figure out the first name which is the second symbol.
