    Watchsearc…
    (88 items)

Here’s an old pin of mine which I might have received in a ‘grab bag’ of items from EBay several years ago.

It has a bar across the back which I think would accommodate a ribbon.....just guessing about that though.

The 2 loops at the bottom edge must have held something.....maybe the name or position of the committee member. Another guess.

I’m not good at dating old jewelry according to the way the clasp is made but I do believe that this one is old......but how old? I hope someone on CW can let me know.
    Measurements are 2.5 “ by 0.75”.
No markings on back or sides.

I’m also hoping to see pictures of another example of this type pin in all it’s former glory, being worn on a man’s lapel or on a lady’s dress bodice.

I’ve gotten a smile out of ME owning the pin because in all my years of employment, the most dreaded responsibility was having to be on some committee....I’d just rather someone else have to do that!

Jscotto363, thank you so much for the outstanding compliment! The Angel Trumpet plant I was standing under was the largest one I’ve ever grown....it had several ‘sibling’ plants but that particular one received a lot more fertilizer and water (a 35 gallon trash can of salvaged rain water with 1 cup of Miracle Grow granules mixed in, slowly gravity administered about every 2 weeks or so)....the surrounding plants got their share of that and rewarded me with lots of flowers!
      Thank you so much!

Theonlyone, now that’s a great idea! A ‘committee of one’...no debates or opposition....I get to make all decisions then....come springtime, I’ll have to wear it!

My lawn and flowers are a big part of my hobby during the spring and summer months. But, mine is nowhere near the magnitude of yours. Very beautiful!!

You should send it to the horrible Sally on Coronation street, just kidding. Keep it, as its a keeper, wonderful !~

PhilDMorris, I’ll have to check out Sally on Coronation Street....sounds like you might not like her....I probably won’t either!

I’m glad to have a date for it....1930s....that’s fascinating to me! I’ll have to see if I can find old photos online from that time....it would be wonderful to see such a pin being worn by someone.
I found one picture showing a little medallion suspended on short chains (about 1” or so) from those 2 loops on the bottom edge of the pin, and a ribbon about 3-4” long.
I can imagine the original wearer must have felt quite important wearing it.....I just hope they they were not obnoxious and insufferable!!
(the character mentioned by PhilDMorris must have been like that....snooty and self-aggrandizing maybe....lol).
