Hello everyone!!
I was recently able to add this antique cast iron Boston Terrier doorstop to my collection. As you can see, he's a "Left Facing" Boston Terrier. Only 10% of these ever made were "Left Facing". This one, though stained from years of exposure to the elements, still retains a large percentage of his original polychrome paint and even a touch of the original pink paint, that highlights his mouth, still remains. He's from the very early 1900's. You'll notice that this two piece design is held together with a single slotted bolt instead of two screws. He measures 9 3/4" tall, 9 3/8" long and weighs just under 6lbs. So, he's either a very early Hubley design or a National Foundry design. I'm leaning toward a very early Hubley. Either way, he still looks great, considering he's over 100 years old!!!
Thanks for stopping in for a look!!!
