The hardware says very late Victorian probably early 1900s. I heard about the Fall River (Mass.) trunk Co. but historical society of Fall River was unable to confirm. I picked this trunk up in Ct. and so far refinished the outside.
Without a label very hard to say. It could be Fall river trunk or a few of the other New England makers of the time period. These types of wider slat trunks tend to be known as Excelsior trunks. Here is a lithograph of the trunk works.

There was also an Excelsior lock company Stanford Conn. Who's locks are seen on this style of trunk. I do agree this particular latch hardware is 1910s or so, ( I'll look for the patent.) This trunk was produced near the end of when wood slat trunks were being produced.Hope this helps thanks for the post.
