Petite Victorian basket which has been acid dipped to create the satin finish. The pontil is snapped. Is it English, American or Bohemian? It was purchased on-line in America. It would have been made by a superior glass firm. The exterior pattern is zig zagged or herringbone. I think the colours are clear over white over pink cranberry. A pretty little item. Height is 11 cms at top of handle and about the same across widest part of the mouth.

A class act, even nicer for being smaller than the typical basket, too, as they do tend to take up excessive shelf space in larger sizes...
Love the herringbone pattern too, one of my favourites in air trap satin glass.

Thanks once again for the positive comment, IronLace. Smaller glass items, indeed, are great space savers. I've got more items wrapped in cardboard and large styrofoam boxes that are tucked away in an unused bedroom. There must be over twenty boxes. I don't know when they will be put on display - it could be years! I will take some photos of my larger glass cabinet and you will see how I arrange my collection. I like to see everything out and I really don't care where it's placed. Every piece of glass has a story to it and there are quite a few happy memories about how I accumulated the collection. The little basket was a good find and I did see another one, again, in America. For whatever perverse reason, I didn't bid on it. I do like collecting things in pairs. I have an old large blue satin vase with an air trap pattern of small circles. I will post photos of that soon.
