I recently posted three other Bohemian decorated ruffled dishes and this dish is my last example. It is tightly ruffled and is cranberry and white. It is enameled with flowers and leaves. There is, I presume, a thumb hold where the ruffles are turned over. This dish was made to sit in a frame because of the shape of the dish's bottom and the snapped pontil. Perhaps, the section which is turned over, accommodated the handle of the metal frame which it undoubtedly sat inside? About 21 cms [over 8 inches] wide. Both the colours and the enameling promote its visual appeal. Late Victorian?
