I mean...I've seen 'em bent in myriads of creative ways, with busted off tangs or way abused blades or any/all manners of typical abuse you'd expect to happen to a tool purposely meant to (usually) pry on and/or destroy things, BUT --
I do not think I've ever seen one where its entire hook end is **BUSTED OFF ENTIRELY**...???!!!
At least I presume it once had such, like 95% of any similar old prybars do -- but it don't got it now...???
It does not look at all like it was torched or cut off -- if so it was very crudely done -- much more like the steel/iron simply fractured halfway around its bend and and broke off. I likewise wouldn't have guessed they'd **do** that...??
(and if that's really what did happen to it, it sure must have been fun to watch the pry-er go flying halfway across somewhere when it broke in his hand...hope he didn't get hurt too badly...?? ;-) :-)
No not like that ,,but I did have a similar situation I was busted and had to have a Oldcrow in a bar [:~}
It crystalized. Happens from time to time. Especially on Forged in Fire.
