Mystery wall pocket

Hi all! This wall pocket is surprisingly heavy, and has no markings at all. Inside is what appears to be a cardboard type insert , I assume for protection, but cannot be removed. Can anyone advise on who made it or how old it is? Anything recognizable at all? Thanks so much!
