I love this piece! It's the most 'Berkeley' thing ever! i almost don't want to give it away. There's no maker's mark or any tags on it whatsoever. That's right! It's a stainless steel, reusable, portable straw. Just what i always wanted!

another for the mixology tools? missing category?

How do the segments stay together?
I’d probably forget to clean it and wind up making myself sick!
I recall paper drinking straws...just a long narrow strip of stiff paper wound in a spiral. I don’t know what made them keep their shape but if you took a long time finishing your drink or milkshake, the straw would get soggy and ‘unwind’ itself.
Also, about that same time, we had glass straws that were for use by sick people.....I guess if you were well enough to lift a container to your lips, you were expected to drink ‘normally’ and save straws for weak, sick people. My older sister got to use one when she, as a child, had to have orthopedic surgery and was confined to bed for many days.....I was jealous but knew enough to keep it to myself.

thank you for your comment Watchsearcher! the pieces stay together by an elastic band which is not visible. similar to the way tent poles are held together these days.
