Soon to be the official 'littlest thing' on my kitchen display shelf, we have this miniature TABASCO BRAND PEPPER SAUCE bottle I re-found the other day in a drawer. I don't really remember where I got it or when, I would have guessed a random room-service tray in some hotel somewhere until I looked closer at the label on its back, which includes the words "PACKED FOR MRE" -- so who knows. (I am pretty sure I've never actually eaten a MRE though, ifn's that's what I think it is?)
It is otherwise a little glass bottle [there's a ".12" on its bottom] with signature plastic lid still 'sealed for safety'. 1/8 oz, it is 2-3/8" tall, the numbers "9062" are stamped on the safety seal.
My GI Joes have one of those in their jeep.
Yeah, these came in MRE's as early as the 1990s. I have some 1990s-2000s MREs and these are in some of them. For those who don't know MRE = Meals, Ready to Eat. Field rations for the US military. I don't know if all of the branches used them but the Army did. After my time. We were eating out of little cans when I served....
Pic #4 just added -- the little TABASCO bottle does indeed kinda 'disappear' amongst all the rest of the stuff on the shelf -- but it's *there*...??!!! :-)
Thanks to fortapache, Watchsearcher, kwqd, RichmondLori, vetraio50, & jscott0363 for your comments and <love it>s!! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Yes-- in MREs. Every MRE has a bottle in it.
We used to fill them with sand/ soil as a souvenir in the middle east.
