    Hello everyone!!
I recently acquired this vintage bronze dog sculpture. I'm told that this is French, but not completely convinced as it's unmarked. It's nicely detailed and measures 7 3/4" tall, 6" front to back and weighs approximately 3.5lbs.
This was sold to me as a "Whippet" or "Greyhound", but I've never known a Whippet or Greyhound to have a bobtail. I'm curious to see what your responses are as to what breed this little bronze sculpture is. I'm thinking Jack Russell Terrier.

Thanks for stopping in for a look!!
    Scott

He's beautiful Scott, very nice pose. I immediately thought greyhound from the head, but you're right about the short tail - could be the artist imagined him sitting on most of his tail (just a thought)

This one is paying attention - the look on his face is one of "What you say?" I love this one, so detailed almost real.

      So cute!
It has the look of Nipper, the Jack Russell of Pathé Marconi advertisement, but taller and... More fat! ;-))

      Kyra,
Thanks very much! He sure does resemble Nipper, the Jack Russell terrier. I've always thought of this one as a Jack Russell, but it seems that most folks think of this one as a Whippet or Greyhound. I'm still thinking Jack Russell.
