I received this doll today and had a few questions about the back of the head. Handwerck is stamped and above the stamp is 88 S Hughes in almost engraved and above that is the 120-13. I do not belive any part of the rest of the doll is orginal everything but the elbow to arm is soft. The hair and clothes seem high quality. Here's my question my head and should match to others I've seen listed as 120-13 thou I could not see any of the backs of those examples. Was this maybe another doll maker refurbished the doll and signed it? Also when listing an item like this how would I describe it to be accurate?
Hi your doll is a reproduction of a Heinrich Handwerck mold 120 doll. Made in a ceramic doll making class by a hobbyist. The original of this doll is quite desirable .
Yours will make a very nice display doll. The name is the person who painted mold and put doll together and 88 is year made 1988.
When making a copy or reproduction doll it is always required you put your name so it is not confused with original. Some people fail to add their names and there are reproductions that are done so well it takes a trained eye to determine. Yours is clearly a repro. Welcome to CW !
PS you must list as a reproduction .
