This is a loose tintype that dates from the 1870s- 80s time period.
The pose is typical of those showing off an invention or patent.
I am not sure what the device is or what it was used for. Thoughts on the device are appreciated-- maybe some sort of farming implement?
My original photo and my jpgs-- do not copy or reproduce in any form without permission.

Hmmmmmmm ,,, I think it is a preacher

of the little stand ,that holds the Bible
Traveling preacher
Thanks much 33rpm.
The book is a photograph album. Size matches and the round white buttons are typical of era photograph albums.
The stand has little swivel casters on the front side. One on the left is head on, right side one has been turned to show a side view.

I think we are seeing the device from it’s rear.
On the opposite end from the wheels, those 2 long ‘bars’ might be for hitching the device to a horse or to a wagon. Maybe it’s for gathering hay or something similar that needs to be raked up.
Thanks watch.
I thought the same thing about the bars on the front. Also notice the small spanners get smaller as you go from right to left.
