Today's op shop find was this charming & petite Victorian satin glass vase.
It is made from a single layer of opaque pale beige glass, with a satin finish. There is raised enamel decoration of stylised flowers, delicately accented with gilding.
The vase measures 12.5 cm tall, 2 cm across the cut top rim, & 4 cm across the base, which does not have a pontil mark.
Most likely Bohemian origin, I think.
Wonderful find! So beautiful.
Many thanks, jscott0363!
The shop I found this in is not known for bric - a - brac, it's much more focused on clothing (another interest of mine, LOL). So this was a very unexpected find when I dropped by this afternoon!
Lovely enamelling and delicate tones.
Much appreciated, Peggy!
I'm so pleased that I decided to go to this shop today...I had to pick up a few groceries & I thought I might as well drop by...definitely not imagining I'd find anything like this vase! Usually I walk out of this shop with a designer jacket or shirt...it gets a lot of new donated clothing, so antique glass is a real rarity...
