Took a chance the other day to make an hour and 1/2 drive to see a lady that had a Coke sign. She said it had been in her barn for the last 40 years and just wanted to get rid of it before her husband took it to the dump. When I got there I was very pleased to see a sign as she described to me over the phone. The only thing you don't see in the pictures is one side had been painted top to bottom with red paint, took me a day to take it off.
The sign is a double sided porcelain hanging sign 5' x 3 1/2' Made in 1933.
But the best part of the whole trip was I had know idea the sign still had the hanging metal frame it came with back in the day!
Thank you very much officialfuel!
Awesome sign metalman! That was really worth the trip and worth the effort cleanin it up. You're lucky lucky man!
Thank Signaholic, I think it's a kick cleaning up old signs you just never know what's under all that dirt, old or in this case a ton of paint. I love this sign and indeed feel very lucky!
