We need some help identifying the clock. We can't find one like it anywhere on the internet. It was serviced in 1914 and 1927. It's a family heirloom and we just want to know more about it and how much it is worth. Anything will help. =) Thanks!!

      Hi,
You have a Seth Thomas Adamantine Mantel Clock called the "Durban" which can be found listed in Tran Duy Ly's "Seth Thomas Clocks & Movements" Third Edition Volume 1 page 447 (Clock #1462). It is circa 1904 and originally retailed for $7.60, which would be about $180 in 2010. It looks like your clock is in very good condition and if it is in good running order I don't think you would have much trouble getting around $275 (plus or minus $50) on Ebay for it in today's market. Of course auctions are hit or miss but you don't see this model come up very often so you could do much better if it is well prepared for market and a couple of Seth Thomas collectors go at it. In 2005 Tran Duy Ly appraised this model at $375 in mint, original condition so your antique has actually appreciated in real value over the years. If it were mine, I would definitely hang on to, and enjoy this heirloom.
      Regards
