Wardrobe Trunk

I got this wardrobe trunk from a photography studio that was closing. I don't remember if they said how old it was, but it belonged to the owners' family. There's nothing on the trunk, inside or outside, except the lock is Eagle. I didn't check the bottom cause it's too heavy to turn and I didnt think about it when we were moving it. I tried to search wardrobe trunks but I haven't seen any that have those 3 decorations on the top. Would the edge, the more green part, be leather? One of the pictures shows it cracking and looks like it was painted. I thought the rest of it was leather, but I read that vulcanized fiber can look like leather. How do you tell the difference? The top drawer has a hidden drawer on the side, I didn't get a picture of it. A couple of the other drawers are about ready to break apart at the corner and the fabric is coming off the drawer fronts.
How rough does this look? I mostly wanted to clean it up to store craft stuff in it. First I need to figure out how to clean it.
