I picked up this Ingraham clock at a junk shop in Missouri. It looks to me like a 1920 model, from the little research I have done. The movement looks like it has been gone through at some point. Although I don't know that for a fact. For that matter it may not be original to the clock. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can tell from the pictures. It does keep good time for it's age. We love the chimes. It reminds me of my grandparents house. The loud sound use to scare our animals when we first got the clock, but they have since acclimated to the sound. For such a small piece it seems to add a lot to our home. Anyone that knows more about it, please share.

Hello Torque. Welcome to Collectors Weekly, Clocks.
You may have rescued this clock from a junk shop, but I wouldn't consider it as junk.
It is an Ingraham "De Soto" model. You are correct. It is circa 1915. Your particular example could have been manufactured several years before or after that date.
Here are a couple of other examples which were auctioned off in 2018 and 2020:

With its large case, I've no doubt that this model produces a nice sounding hour strike.

If you decide to run it constantly, keep in mind that like any machine it will require periodic maintanance. No doubt that a proper servicing will cost you more than you probably paid for the clock. That often is the reason that these types of clocks get dumped in junk shops or tossed into the "round file".

They really are a nice piece of American manufacturing history, whether they are just displayed, or operated.

      Thanks for sharing.

      Regards,

      Bruce

Thank you very much for the info and the examples. You are right. That's my clock. That is the first time I have ever seen another one exactly like mine. I love that with one look at the picture I can confirm that my clock looks to be all original. Thanks again for the help.
