A Queen Anne style furniture is a style of furniture design that developed during and around the reign of Anne, Queen of Great Britain (1702-1714). Queen Anne style furniture became popular by 1705 and was named after Queen Anne of England. Gone was the rigidity of the past and in its place was elegant furniture that broke away from the heaviness of traditional dark, thick wood of the time. The design that most distinguishes Queen Anne furniture is a carved scallop shell or fan shape on top of such pieces as chairs, chests and slant top desks. Queen Anne style furniture is still being made today.
By 1725, Queen Anne style furniture became popular in America.

Today I will display unusual images of a few antiques Queen Anne side chairs. To start, the pair is made of walnut circa 1735, probably made in England with stiles flat in front curve out and in and down just above the drop in seat; with a vase-shaped splat. doubled c scrolled atop the chair's back and atop the cabriole front legs that ends in padded feet.
The C scrolls on both the back and legs are very much desired. There is a possibility that they were made on Boston circa 1730's.

On the other-hand, there is a single Queen Anne side chair with feet carved to resemble an animal's paw, most likely that of a lion. Made of oak, this chair probably is an American Country Queen Anne's Side Chair made either Pennsylvania or New York.
PS: If information pertaining to the chair has missed represented, information in regards to identification.
