Hello ???? . My mother has this 18" K&R doll that is stamped with the K (star) R 114 however below the 114 is a W - There are no other markings and my mother seems to think the eyes are glass...I know she is a Gretchen Doll but not able to find anything about the W..... ...is anyone able to tell me if she is original or a reproduction please ...We don't know any of her history .. she is wearing a global dolls wig so any further information you may also be to share regarding her clothing / hair etc would be greatly appreciated. TIA

This is a reproduction of a German Kämmer & Reinhardt doll mold 114 . Made by a hobbyist in a doll making class . This particular mold in a antique version is highly collectible and was very costly in at it's peak in 1980-90s so many people painted their own in a ceramic class that would fire head after painting and sold bodies , clothes and patterns . Antique dolls would have had a composition body like yours but not porcelain . The person that painted her did a good job . They make nice display dolls.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond that was really helpful and much appreciated .. .. I’ve noticed some reproductions being sold but would I be correct in assuming without a reproduction date she doesn’t hold much value?

The date she was reproduced doesn't matter most of these were done in 1980'90s . She is from what I can see without a close up of face would sell but not for a lot . There are collectors for reproductions although they don't bring much money .
