These are 2 photos of the same glass shoe the blue color is under florescent light while the pink color is under iridescent light. The glass is called Alexandrite after the mineral with the same property. Boyd produced this glass on August 27, 1983. Boyd kept excellent records of all their glass colors and when they produced each color. Each day Boyd only produced enough molten glass to cast one day's figurines, these were called day pots. The "slag" glass figurines were produced by hand swirling 2 colors of glass as it went into the mold. All Boyd shoes were hand made one at a time and not mass produced like Fenton shoes.
