This doll belonged to my Grandmother. She is 26" of porcelain and leather.
I was told by the Doll curator at Fort Worth Museum of Science and History (in the early 80's) she as c1880 because her porcelain had no markings on the back of her head/neck or back.
I have tons more pix if necessary.

When Maniken gets on here she should be able to help you out.

What a fantastic doll. She is a closed mouth which is earlier and much more valuable than a open mouth . She has no markings to ID to her but dates 1870-1890's . I believe her mark is under kid leather lower on her back . She is German made . I would like to be sure if she has a mold number low on back . Until then I would just call her a closed mouth early bisque shoulder head doll . I am thinking maybe a ABG or Kestner doll. The covering over hole in head called pate has been replaced if it was plaster it would be a Kestner but we can't be sure . Doll dealers will gently pull down on leather to see but I don't suggest you do that unless you feel comfortable with it . I would just love her and know she is German made :-) Thanks for sharing and if you get bold and pull down on leather I will watch for a reply . It is just glued and can be reglued . She is quite beautiful

Manikin, thank you so much for your input! Sorry it took me so long to reply. I've had house guests!
I remember the museum curator said she looked under her leather on her back for marking or date and there is nothing! I took a photo (but don't know how to add it).
The curator at the museum also said her two dresses are original and her wig is too! She's in excellent condition commensurate with her age. No chipping on her bisque. I'm hesitant to style her hair due to age! Her shoes are replacements and pantaloons are machine stitched.
