I've owned several motorcycles in my past from a Harley Knuckle Head. to a Honda Shadow. I enjoyed all of them very much, of course, this was in my days of P--S and Vinegar, when I was young.
I wanted a bike again, to go on small excursions in the countryside during the summer.
My wife reminded me that with age comes a loss of rapid reflexes and response time (although I don't admit it, she is seldom wrong).
So-o-o, I decided on a scooter. My choice was a Vespa Scooter in 150 cc.
After posting "WANTED VESPA SCOOTER" ads in every diner.... hardware store .... and grocery bulletin boards within fifty miles, I found out that a used Vespa is as scarce as hens teeth.
I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a new one. I bought the Vespa that you see in the photos. I truly love it, and it has the spunk to go to 70 mph. if you so desire (my wife says not to).
I had to order a lowering bracket for the shock absorber, It sits higher than my Harley did and when I come to a stop, I'm on my tippy toes. No good. This new bracket will let me be at least on the balls of my feet at a stop. Much better stability in my senior years.
You can't ever get bike riding out of your system. I'm 75 and have been riding for 62 yrs.. Have 3 now. Know anybody looking for a 883 Harley Sportster. Going down to Carriacou and all they have for rent are scooters. Never ridden a skooter.
