There's only one shown here in the pictures, but I have a set of 5 of these chairs. They're all made of chrome plated tubular steel now universally slightly rusted (surface mostly, I hope?) covered in what's now a kinda stiff plastic (real Vinyl?) bright yellow textured upholstery with nailhead fastening around the seat backs.

I almost got rid of these awhile ago, until I noticed how the seats are actually made. Pic 3 shows they are constructed with real springs on frames to hold someone's b*tt up (like large upholstered furniture items) instead of much more typical solid (plywood, etc) seat bases found on most chairs like this, especially modern examples.

I don't know exactly how old they are and there aren't any remaining labels or marks on any of them that might tell me more, but I strongly suspect they are genuine 1950's-60's survivors. (older?) IF they have been re-covered, it certainly must have been a likewise very long time ago, but I don't think I see any evidence of that.

As I currently lack space in my house to use them they remain in storage. I kinda keep hoping I'll be able to find a way to at least clean one or two up enough to sneak 'em in somewhere especially since they'd match my kitchen *perfectly* in style, color, and age... ;-)

If anybody can tell me anything in particular about them, please speak up! :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Probably easier on one’s rear end with those springs! My parent’s set from the late 1940s (after WWII) have solid seats - they are still in use- and are rather uncomfortable after a while.
I love that cheery bright yellow!

Mid century masterpieces. Very popular now.
