I got this little lady from my mother-in-law's estate. She is quite heavy and looks like a lady laying down with one arm supporting herself, she has a bonnet on, and when you open the robe or blanket she is topless but has on a bathing suit or nightgown. On the bottom is a stamp JB 2039. Any idea what or when she was made?
JENNINGS BROTHERS NAUGHTY BRONZE: Reclining woman , front length of her dress flips down front and back to expose her... Marked J.B. 2039
5 1/2"long. Jennings Brothers made castings from late 1800's to about 1950. This one was made about 1920's, so I have been told. In 2001 one with no back dress panel sold in FL for $125, and another one complete in good condition sold for $300 in 2007.
No actually bronze, but a casting. Jennings Brothers had a very good quality finish that lasted and looked like bronze.
